How To Do Network Marketing As A Nutritionist

If you're a Nutritionist or Health Coach, you don't have to do network marketing like everyone else. In fact, I built my doTERRA team to over 2500 people, doing it in my own way, that feels authentic and fits my business.

If you're feeling stuck, uncomfortable, or disingenuous in your essential oils or other network marketing business, it's likely because you're trying to shoehorn your product line into your existing business instead of finding your own approach.

But there's a better way.  A way that makes sense for you as a Nutrition professional. Watch the video below, and start thinking about how you can align your services and products under one cohesive umbrella (that's you!).

Nutritionist and health coach friends, let’s talk about network marketing.

Specifically about being yourself  through your coaching business and through your networking marketing business. This is something that has taken me awhile to learn in my own business. But the more I step into really being myself in all aspects of my business, the more in alignment everything really is for me.

I feel like there is a huge disconnect between how so many of us are running our service based business, and how we are running your product based services.  You may do Nutrition or Health Coaching under your established business or brand, but then you’re doing your product business almost as it’s own thing. You’re trying to do it like however the person who enrolled you does it, or the most successful person in your upline is doing it.

You are in a unique position as a healthcare professional. You don’t have to do network marketing like everyone else.

If you’re struggling to build your networking marketing business, I want to know if you can relate to my story.

I have had a network marketing business with essential oils for about two and a half years now. I've been running my Nutrition business longer than that. So it’s been my passion for the last 5 years to educate and support people in their health, through one on one coaching, group programs, and free education. I have taught tons of workshops, worked with hundreds of women, and really feel like i’m doing the work i was called to do. But I wasn’t able to reach the amount of people that I wanted to reach, and was also feeling really isolated in my business. Maybe you can relate to that. So when I was invited to take a look at the essential oils business, I was really attracted to the idea of having a vehicle to reach more people, and more tools to help my existing customers. If you have an essential oils business, you know what i’m talking about. It’s just such an easy way to help people, or help your existing clients get better results.

So I did what most people do. I signed up, and used my oils and loved them, and started working the business. And what did I do? I followed the model that I saw other people in my organization having success with. Teaching "top 10" classes, passing around the peppermint and lemon, and telling people alllll the ways they could use them. And there’s nothing wrong with that, if you love doing top 10 classes and they work for you and that’s your passion, go for it. But for me there was a big disconnect between that,  and what I was doing in my Nutrition business. It felt like two different businesses.

And I had some success with it.  I had customers and recurring orders, but it felt disconnected from my coaching business. One one hand, I was doing my coaching services, and then kind of “on the side” I was doing essential oils.  And there was some overlap, and I did some upsells to my clients, but it didn’t fit together the way I thought it should. I just didn’t know there was any other way to do it.

And this is when I started really thinking on what my business could look like if I incorporated oils into it, instead of doing these two separate things. Putting everything under one cohesive umbrella, that is my own personal brand. And that's when things started to really happen for me, and I started attracting success (and on my own terms).

So what does that actually look like in your business?

Think about -- Why are people coming to you? Yes some people might be coming to you because they’re interested in essential oils, but I’ll bet a lot of them are coming to you because you’re YOU. Because of whatever it is you’re passionate about, that you help people with, that you’re the expert in in your own business. Maybe that’s hormones, or green cleaning, or green beauty, or anxiety. You're the health expert people turn to for solutions around that niche. So why are you spending time telling people that lemon oil takes sharpie off of a white board? It doesn’t make any sense. No wonder you feel like you're running two different businesses.

I want you to know that you can be yourself though your business and through networking marketing, and these things can work together so beautifully, if you do it strategically. And I know there’s a level of discomfort that comes with doing things differently, breaking the mold, and certainly with being yourself. But you know what? If you already have your own business, you’re already there :)
